Dealing with The Mane!

3:42 PM

This is for all of you girls with curly hair who have been struggling for a couple of days or like me, for years to find the best product to use and how to tame this wild beautiful beast of yours. Before we begin I wanted to give you guys a background story of my hair because it been through a lot. So let me start with my hair was so curly before, since I was very little it was super short and the older I got my hair went through a lot of products and a lot of blow drying. I even did the keratin treatment and it was nice to have straight hair for a month or two however, my curls went down! It felt like my curls were gone. I also did some small highlights. Now I am slowly working on regaining my curls back! For Christmas I got a product called Moroccanoil and I use the curl defining cream every time I style my hair. Plus I use coconut oil which is really nice because it makes my hair shine and super soft. I read online different things on how to treat curly hair and I could never find the perfect product for me, like the product I use right now is good, yet I feel like there is something missing. Normally my hair last me at least three days, so I wash it every 2 days. Now I'm going to show you guys how I style my hair and some things I do to tame this mane!

So after I wash my hair with the same brand of my curl cream I dry it with a 100% cotton shirt and before drying it in the shower I ran my fingers through my hair while conditioner was in it. I do this so I don't have to comb it because combing breaks hair and combing curly hair is a no no, especially if it's dry!! when drying I go in a upwards motion and believe me it does get dry really fast! I use a shirt because I saw that the towel leaves my hair extremely dry after getting it out of the towel and I don't like that because when I put the product in my hair I like to have my hair nice and damp so the product can actually soaked in.

After drying it, I run my finger through my hair again to make sure that it is not tangled up. it's normally isn't and then I put coconut oil in my hair, a little bit because it is an oil and I do not want oily hair! Then after that I put on my curl cream and style it. Which is just crunching upwards towards my head and I make sure I get my tips too. Now I either let it air dry or I defuse it, depends how I feel on that day to be honest lol. but normally I defuse it because it quicker and defines my curls. When I leave to air dry I DO NOT TOUCH IT  because it will create frizz!

Finally it dries or after defusing it I style it again by parting it in which ever side I want it to be on or if it go frizzy I use Moroccan oil to try to fix it, the thing is I try to use as little product as I can. Also  I flip my hair a couple of time to get more volume and that is pretty much it.

And lastly to go to sleep I put up into a high pony or technically it's called the pineapple and sleep on it. When I wake up and if it not that crazy i will just add some water and a tiny tiny bit of cream and if it is crazy i will put it half up half down or find another style to do!

Curly hair is pretty hard to take care of, it is not easy and you must know how to handle your curls so you can make sure when you walk out of your house you are looking fabulous!

TIP: coconut oil is very good for hair that is damaged. Try this coconut oil deep conditioning that I found on the web. it really does leave your hair nice and soft!!!  doing this for a couple of months will actually help!
